The UK Cards Association, the trade body for the card payments industry, has today [Wednesday 12 February] published its Annual Report 2014.

The Association represents the card issuers and acquirers that facilitate the use of the UK’s 56 million credit cards and 88 million debit cards, spending on which accounts for 33% of GDP. The Annual Report 2014 covers our primary activities over the past year and into the future – including the continued development of contactless payments, new tools to help consumers manage their borrowing and engagement with the UK Government and the European Commission.

The report also features key industry metrics and trends, the future of card payments, the industry agenda and how we are leading the fraud prevention drive within the UK.
